Community Health Workers Provide Life-Saving Services

Women and children across the globe are sick and dying due to the lack of quality health services and information available to them. Women are not educated on how to properly care for their children’s health and therefore, we still have children dying of easily preventable diseases.

TEL International supports community health workers to ensure that life-saving health information is disseminated in the community. This includes growth monitoring and well-baby checks at clinics; school visits to determine if there is clean drinking water and soap; home visits to make suggestions on how to improve hygiene and sanitation practices and share strategies on how to prevent malaria at the household level; and registering and referring pregnant women to ensure they are getting the recommended care.
