As pillars of excellence, leadership, and service, Black sororities and fraternities have long stood as champions of empowerment, advocacy, and collective uplift within communities locally and globally. Rooted in a shared legacy of resilience and social responsibility, these organizations have consistently leveraged scholarship, service, and civic engagement to address critical needs, dismantle barriers, and create pathways for opportunity. Through decades of philanthropic initiatives—ranging from education and health advocacy to economic empowerment and social justice—the Divine Nine has demonstrated the transformative power of unity, purpose, and action. It is in this enduring spirit of service and brotherhood/sisterhood that we invite Black sororities and fraternities to harness their collective influence, resources, and leadership to extend their impact beyond borders. Through meaningful partnerships and mission-driven service in the Caribbean and Sub-Saharan Africa, these men and women are working alongside TEL International to meet urgent needs, strengthen communities, and spark sustainable, purpose-driven change that honors their legacy and builds a hopeful future for generations.
The Divine IX Global Outreach Initiative embodies the rich diversity of gifts, resources, callings, and comfort levels among those who take part. Some are called to travel abroad to share the Gospel, serve in children’s ministry, engage in community service projects, participate in sports outreach, or support medical missions that bring healing and hope to those in need. Others faithfully contribute through generous financial support, sustaining mission efforts from a distance. Still others serve by collecting and shipping food, clothing, medical supplies, and essential goods to communities facing significant hardship.
There are also individuals who adopt missionaries, partner with specific mission projects, and commit to long-term prayer and support. And there are those who feel a genuine desire to serve but are unsure of where or how to begin. Each of these roles is vital. Every act of obedience—whether going, giving, sending, or praying—has a meaningful place in God’s greater plan to reach the world for Christ. Answer the call today and fulfill Jesus’ mandate to be in mission.
