At TEL International, we believe that no child should have to choose between learning and hunger. Our Feeding and Nutrition Program was born out of the urgent need to address food insecurity among vulnerable children—especially those in community schools and orphan care programs where hunger is a daily reality. This initiative not only nourishes growing bodies but also strengthens minds, fosters hope, and opens doors to a brighter future.
In many of the communities we serve, children arrive at school on empty stomachs, with little or no access to nutritious meals at home. For some, the food provided through our program is the only meal they will receive all day. This reality fuels our unwavering commitment to provide consistent, healthy meals that support academic success and physical well-being.
By working closely with community-based schools, our program helps increase school attendance, improve concentration and performance, and promote long-term educational outcomes. A well-fed child is more alert, more engaged, and more likely to stay in school. Through the simple yet powerful act of feeding children, we are removing one of the greatest barriers to education: hunger.
But our mission doesn’t stop at the classroom door. TEL International also partners with orphan care organizations that are doing incredible work in providing shelter and love to children who have lost their families. These programs often lack the resources to consistently provide nutritious meals. We come alongside them to supply food, offer logistical support, and ensure that orphans have access to regular, balanced nutrition—not just for survival, but for growth and dignity. Our Feeding and Nutrition Program is about more than just food; it’s about transformation. It’s about creating a foundation where children can dream, grow, and thrive without the constant distraction of hunger. Every plate of food we serve represents more than calories—it represents care, stability, and opportunity.
