Across many foreign mission fields, local churches face significant challenges in securing a dedicated place to worship. Financial limitations are a primary obstacle. Many congregations lack the resources necessary to purchase, rent, or build a suitable facility where they can gather freely to worship the Lord. The high cost of rent often consumes the limited funds they do have, making it nearly impossible to save toward purchasing land or beginning construction on their own building. As a result, these believers are left without a stable, long-term place to call their own.
In several nations around the world, Christianity is not officially outlawed, yet believers still suffer severe persecution. Hostility may come from governments, societal pressures, or even from within their own families. In such environments, renting a building for worship becomes increasingly difficult—if not dangerous. Because of the risk of harassment, arrest, or worse, many Christians are forced to meet in secret, often gathering in small groups in homes. This not only limits the size of their meetings but also hinders the church’s ability to worship together as a unified body, encourage one another, and grow in faith.
Poverty presents an additional and persistent challenge. Even in areas where land might be available and opposition less severe, the financial means to secure property or fund construction are simply out of reach for most congregations. This leaves many churches without the basic infrastructure needed to carry out their mission, disciple believers, or reach their communities effectively.
Recognizing these pressing needs, TEL International is committed to more than just planting Bible-believing churches—we are dedicated to empowering them. One of the key ways we do this is by helping local congregations acquire the financial support they need to purchase land and build places of worship that meet their unique needs. These buildings not only provide a safe and consistent location for fellowship and spiritual growth but also serve as beacons of hope in their communities. Through strategic support and partnership, TEL International stands alongside our brothers and sisters in Christ, working to ensure that every believer—regardless of geography or economic status—has a place to worship freely and grow in their faith. Together, we are advancing the Kingdom of God, one church at a time.
