Short-Term Missions: Purpose, Preparation, and Partnership

TEL International is envisioning a future where communities are transformed through practical service, spiritual growth, and meaningful cross-cultural engagement. We prepare teams through training and short-term missions to make a lasting difference in Sub-Saharan Africa—and beyond.

While Africa remains at the heart of our mission, we are expanding our vision to reach more countries throughout Central and South America. These regions share similar challenges and opportunities for service, and we believe God is calling us to take part in the life-changing work happening there.

One of the greatest challenges we face, however, is the financial cost of sending teams into the mission field. To help overcome this obstacle, TEL International has established a Sponsorship Fund—a resource dedicated to assisting individuals who feel called to serve but may lack the means to do so. This fund enables more people to step forward in faith and participate in global missions, helping us extend our reach and deepen our impact.

Looking to the future, our vision for expanded outreach goes beyond short-term visits. We aim to walk alongside the communities we serve—partnering with local leaders and organizations to address both physical and spiritual needs. In many of the places we go, people face significant challenges such as lack of clean water, food insecurity, limited access to education, and other practical hardships. By meeting these needs in tangible ways, we have the privilege of demonstrating God’s love in action. Each project, conversation, and act of service becomes an opportunity to show that we genuinely care—not only about people’s spiritual well-being but about their daily lives as well.

At TEL International, we believe that true ministry involves both compassion and empowerment. Together, we can help communities thrive and share the hope that transforms lives for generations to come.
