Rising tensions and increasing hostility between Hindu and Christian communities have compelled many mission organizations to carefully reassess how they carry out ministry in India. TEL International is among those that have had to adapt in response to these challenging realities, thoughtfully adjusting the implementation of Project Light, a four-year initiative dedicated to sharing the Gospel across the nation. While the mission remains unchanged, the methods have evolved to ensure both effectiveness and the safety of those involved.

In light of these circumstances, TEL International has shifted away from highly visible street evangelism toward a more relational and culturally sensitive approach. Rather than public proclamation, the focus has moved to intentional, personal engagement with neighbors, friends, and community members. This quieter strategy allows the message of Christ to be shared directly through trusted relationships, daily interactions, and acts of compassion that naturally open doors for meaningful spiritual conversations.

Amid these challenges, the local church in India continues to advance with remarkable resilience and unity. In many areas, believers are more connected and collaborative than ever before, supporting one another through prayer, fellowship, and shared mission. This strengthened unity has enabled the church to find creative, context-appropriate ways to live out and communicate the Gospel, even in environments marked by opposition. Despite the threat of violence and social pressure, many Christians are pressing forward with courage and faith. They are demonstrating the love of Christ not only through words, but through their actions in every sphere of life—at home, in the workplace, in their neighborhoods, and within their communities. Their steadfast commitment reflects a powerful witness: that even in times of adversity, the Gospel continues to take root and transform lives through humility, perseverance, and love.
