The Jesus Film Project

The Jesus Film Project continues to make remarkable strides in its mission to share the story of Jesus Christ with people across the globe—especially those who have never before heard the Gospel. Based entirely on the Gospel of Luke, The Jesus Film has become one of the most widely translated and distributed films in history, serving as a powerful evangelistic tool in even the most remote regions of the world.

As of now, the film has been translated into an astonishing 624 languages, ensuring that people from a broad array of linguistic and cultural backgrounds can experience the life and teachings of Christ in their native tongue. Translation efforts are ongoing, with work currently underway on 282 additional language versions. This continued expansion is a testament to the project’s unwavering commitment to reaching the “unreached”—those without access to Christian resources in their heart language.

According to officials from the Jesus Film Project, the film has been viewed by an estimated 3.9 billion people across 233 of the world’s 234 recognized countries. These viewings have taken place in diverse settings—from city centers and churches to isolated villages and refugee camps—where technology and resources are often scarce. The impact has been profound: over 121 million individuals have indicated decisions to follow Christ after watching the film.

The Jesus Film is available in a variety of formats to meet the needs of different audiences and environments. These include traditional film reels, digital video, DVDs, and audio versions. Additionally, a new children’s adaptation has been created to help younger audiences engage with the story of Jesus in a more age-appropriate and relatable way. This version simplifies the narrative while retaining the core message of Christ’s love and sacrifice, using colorful animation, child-friendly language, and culturally relevant storytelling techniques to capture the attention and hearts of young viewers around the world.

With a combination of innovative technology, global partnerships, and grassroots evangelism, the Jesus Film Project remains a powerful force in Christian outreach, continuing to bridge cultural and linguistic divides to share the message of hope, redemption, and love found in the life of Christ.
