The Constellations Shouted Because of Him

The Constellations Shouted Because of Him

And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life… – Genesis 3: 17

Satan tripped Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and as a result both they and all of their, born and unborn children also fell. This is an almost obvious point that church people have always conceded. What is seldom seen are the cosmic consequences of their fall. A part of the penalty for Adam’s sin was that God cursed the ground for Adam’s sake.

Hold up! The ground didn’t do a single thing other than provide the dust for the main ingredient of Adam’s creation and anchor the tree of the knowledge of good and evil to the earth. When Adam and Eve fell, they dragged the rest of creation down with them.

Before the fall, there is not a single reference to crime, murder, wars, sickness, plagues, natural disasters, species extinction, global warming, deforestation or the like. These only appeared after the first sin of the first human beings. Therefore, the curse which God placed on the ground and by extension the rest of creation also required a degree of redemption or salvation to restore it to its original state. (For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. Romans 8: 22)

This is the very reason that we should not be surprised that when Jesus was born, the stars were the first to shout. The heavens declared His glory. His own star took it’s original, rightful, brilliant and center place in the night time sky. The stars rejoiced and notified the rest of the universe because their salvation was also nigh. Somehow, even the stars knew that the birth of Christ would ultimately lead to the second coming of Christ. At that time, John’s prophecy on Patmos would come true:

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. – Revelation 21: 1-4

And, that is miraculous!
