At TEL International, we believe that every person deserves the basic necessities of life—a safe place to live, enough food to eat, clean water to drink, and access to education that can unlock a brighter future. For communities like Zeze village, trapped in the grip of extreme poverty, these necessities remain distant dreams. But this dream is not beyond reach. It doesn’t require vast global institutions or decades of study—just the commitment of the villagers themselves, and the generosity of supporters.
Zeze village faces serious challenges. Climate change has brought a steady decline in rainfall, making it harder for subsistence farmers to grow enough to feed their families. Many struggle not just to survive, but to afford basic needs like medical care or school uniforms for their children. In Tanzania, nearly 40% of children suffer from stunted growth due to chronic malnutrition—a crisis that calls for urgent, practical solutions.
TEL International is working alongside local schools and partners to identify families most in need and support them through a focused income-generation initiative. These families will be given access to reliable water sources, irrigation supplies, and seedling starter kits with crops like tomatoes, watermelons, sunflowers, and other local, nutritious varieties. They will also receive initial training in horticulture and nutrition, along with weekly visits and participation in support groups to help ensure their crops succeed.
To create lasting change, we’re also providing a guaranteed market for the harvest, and entrepreneurship training to help families increase their income and expand their farming efforts sustainably. This initiative will directly support 500 vulnerable families, giving them a real chance to rise out of poverty. With steady income, they can afford nutritious food, send their children to school with the supplies they need, and seek medical care when illness strikes. Together, we can help the people of Zeze not just survive, but build a life of dignity, opportunity, and hope. Your support makes this possible.
