TEL International is dedicated to bringing life, hope, and opportunity to children in South Africa who are made vulnerable by the devastating impact of HIV/AIDS and poverty. For over a decade, TEL International has worked in close partnership with local community organizations to provide funding, guidance, and holistic support. Together, we aim to ensure that every child in our care receives access to high-quality services in education, healthcare, child protection, and community development.

The crisis is urgent. In South Africa, more than 450 children lose a parent to AIDS every single day. Entire communities are raising a generation of children without the guidance of parents or teachers—and with few opportunities for a better future. Unemployment affects an estimated 31% of the population, while nearly half of South Africans live below the poverty line. In many areas, children under the age of 19 make up the majority of the population, with many forced to head their own households. Shockingly, 40% of reported sexual assaults in the country are committed against children.

TEL International’s mission is to care for these vulnerable children—supporting them physically, emotionally, and socially. Through our network of trusted local partners, we help establish and strengthen community centers that provide: safe spaces for play and emotional healing; nutritious meals and after-school support; school uniforms, shoes, and supplies to keep children in school; access to antiretroviral medication and HIV education; early childhood development programs; and secure housing and child protection services.

In addition to direct services for children, TEL International invests in building the capacity of local organizations—offering training, mentorship, and resources that enhance their long-term impact and sustainability. By equipping local leaders with the tools and funding they need, we are helping transform lives and rebuild communities from the ground up. Together, we can continue to create real and lasting change—one child at a time.
