Ntaseka Clinic: A Lifeline for the Vulnerable

Located in the Kamenge slum of Bujumbura, the Ntaseka Clinic serves as a vital source of hope and healing for vulnerable families in Burundi. Founded in 2002, the clinic provides affordable healthcare, trauma counseling, HIV/AIDS support, and community outreach to more than 10,000 people each year.

With a dedicated staff of seventeen, the clinic ministers to survivors of rape and gender-based violence, HIV-positive individuals, mothers, children, and families with limited access to medical care. In a community of more than 65,000 people where free or low-cost healthcare is scarce, Ntaseka Clinic has become a lifeline for many struggling with poverty, illness, and the lasting effects of Burundi’s civil war.

The clinic offers maternal and child healthcare, family planning, HIV testing, and ongoing support for more than 330 HIV-positive individuals. It also provides trauma healing workshops and counseling programs that help abused and vulnerable women find emotional healing, restored dignity, and renewed hope.

Through outreach and education programs focused on health, family care, and violence prevention, Ntaseka Clinic is helping strengthen families and improve the well-being of the entire community. In the midst of hardship, the clinic continues to bring compassion, healing, and hope to thousands throughout Kamenge, transforming lives through medical care, emotional support, and the message that every person is valued and worthy of dignity.
