Around the world, millions of people are living with blindness and severe vision impairment, many without access to the medical care needed to restore or protect their sight. It is estimated that more than 45 million people worldwide are blind, and in many cases, their condition is preventable or treatable through proper medical intervention. Beyond the physical challenges they face, many also live in poverty, isolation, and spiritual darkness, often in regions where access to the Gospel is limited or nonexistent. Reaching these individuals with compassionate medical care is a vital part of fulfilling the Great Commission, demonstrating God’s love in practical ways while bringing physical healing and eternal hope to people living in underserved communities.

In response to this urgent need, TEL International is leading the Vision 2030 initiative—an ambitious effort to help eliminate avoidable blindness by the year 2030 while opening doors for Gospel outreach in some of the world’s hardest-to-reach regions. Through strategic partnerships, medical missions, eye care programs, surgeries, screenings, and treatment efforts, TEL International is bringing practical help and life-changing hope to communities that desperately need both physical and spiritual healing.

One of the most powerful aspects of this mission is the ability to use compassionate medical care as a bridge for sharing the Gospel. In many countries where traditional evangelistic organizations face restrictions or are unable to openly minister, medical outreach provides unique access to communities that might otherwise remain unreached.
