Now Faith

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11: 1)

Faith is like gasoline. You can’t use it unless you have it! It is impossible to run today on the gas you used yesterday. If you are going anywhere today, you need gasoline now. Your car note may be paid. Your automobile may be a luxury model, but without gas now, you will not move one single inch.

It is true that the faith you used yesterday reminds you of the value of faith and the power of faith. However, that faith will not help you now. You have a challenge now. You have a problem now. You have a need now. You must have faith now.

Now faith is faith that rises to the occasion. Now faith is faith that is fresh and alive. Now faith is active and ready to go.

Our daily prayer should be that the God who is here and now will give us now faith sufficient to the challenges we are facing right now.
