For His Graciousness

For His Graciousness

Many people refuse to accept God because they have only heard of His judgment. They have never consciously experienced His grace. This grace of God which Paul speaks of in our text has been discovered by many people to have several different characteristics. The grace of God is:

1). Sufficient. (II Corinthian 12: 7-10) – 7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. 8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. 9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

2). Generous. (Psalm 84: 11) – 11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

3). Saving. (Ephesians 2: 8-10) – 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

4). Abundant. (II Corinthians 4: 15) – 15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.

5). Free. (Romans 3: 24; 5: 10) – 24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

6). Amazing. (John Newton) –  “Amazing grace. How sweet the sound. That saved a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now I’m found was blind, but now I see.”

Thank God for His grace!
