Ministry in the Philippines

Being humble often involves working behind the scenes. Those who are not looking for recognition will gladly take on tasks that go unnoticed. The work, usually necessary for the success of major projects and activities, may go unrewarded by those who benefit the most. It takes humility to complete such task.

Few experience the shortage of recognition more than Christian workers. Particularly unsung are missionaries, who may be called on to address physical, social, and emotional necessities, as well as the spiritual needs around them.

Timothy Taylor, a missionary in the Philippines, knows well the unseen sacrifices many on his mission team have offered for the work of the Lord. Stationed on the Philippine island of Mindoro, his team works with the indigenous population who live in Puerto Galera.

Word has spread quickly that Timothy and the team are in the villages to help improve the lives of the citizens. They bring food, clothing, books, and many other items that families so desperately need.

God sees our humble acts of giving. Just a Jesus noted the widow who gave all she had, so He notices and will reward Timothy and his missionary team for graciously performing the tasks others do not see. A note of appreciation can be a great encouragement to a missionary. Consider sending cards to missionaries who may be far from home and working hard with little or no recognition. Thank them for their service, and remind them that their humble work is pleasing to the Lord. That said, TEL International is proud to be affiliated with the work that Timothy and his team has begun in the Philippines.
