Supporting Quality Schooling in Sub-Saharan Africa

According to The World Bank, millions of children are in school but not learning. If students are failing to learn, education fails to deliver on its promise to eliminate extreme poverty and create shared opportunity and prosperity for all. Even after several years in school, millions of children cannot read, write or do basic math. TEL International is working with its partners to deliver quality education and learning in Sub Saharan Africa where we are providing learning opportunities to children.

TEL International is working with its partners to provide a quality education to primary and middle school children. Our goal is to support and enabling them to learn and succeed in and out of school. This will be achieved by providing a quality learning environment and learning resources; teacher professional development for quality teaching and student psycho-social support including meals, uniform, health support, counselling, and mentoring to help develop strong character, skills and talents.

Our interventions in education will enable young people to be in school and learn in ways that will ensure they transition into employment or create employment, thus ensuring better earnings, good health, and a life without poverty. For our communities, this will spur innovation, create new industries, strengthen institutions, and foster social cohesion and integrity. The community will take a pronounced role in caring, nurturing and protecting its biggest source of wealth and development- children.
